Mount Washington Ski Bus: Travel Info & FAQs

▸ Are Reservations Required?

Yes, Mount Washington Ski Bus requires a reservation.

All tickets must be purchased online no later than 4:35am on the day of travel.

The bus will only stop at locations where passengers have pre-reserved pickups or drop offs, and the driver will not be able to sell any last minute walk-up tickets.

▸ Can I cancel or make changes to my ticket?

Yes, follow these steps to change the date of your departure:

  1. Go to your confirmation Email.
  2. Click the blue ‘Click here’ link in your confirmation email next to the ticket you wish to change.
  3. Enter the new date.
  4. All changes must be completed prior to 4:35am the new day of travel (or prior to the original date of travel, whichever is earlier).
▸ What if I can’t find my confirmation email but want to change my ticket?
  1. Select Change Ticket
  2. Manually enter your ticket number
  3. Manually enter the last name of the passenger (as spelled on the ticket, case-sensitive)
  4. Enter new date.
  5. All changes must be completed prior to 04:35am the new day of travel (or prior to the original date of travel, whichever is earlier).

If you would like to make this change through our staff, or the self-serve is not working for you please email us at reservations@mtwskibus.com and include your transaction number, and the date you would like to change to. Our staff will then move your ticket to the new date for you or contact you if there are any issues. We recommend contacting us at least 2-3 days prior to travel, to give us time to respond.

▸ Can I change my pickup or drop-off location?

If you would like to change your pickup or drop-off location, please email us at reservations@mtwskibus.com and include your transaction number, and the date/location you would like to change to. We recommend contacting us at least 2-3 days prior to travel. Please note: Changes to similar or more expensive locations are possible, though there may be an additional fee. Changes to a cheaper location cannot be made, but you can choose to cancel your existing ticket, and book new tickets from the cheaper location. Transaction Fee of $1.00+tax will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.

▸ Can I cancel my ticket?

Flexible Tickets are refundable, and changes to date and time are available.

Changes to a similar-priced or more expensive location are available, but there may be a cost associated.

Changes to a cheaper location or to the passenger type are not available, though you do have the option of cancelling/refunding your current ticket and purchasing a new ticket with the new details you want.

Self-Serve Changes must be made at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure time. Changes through our staff must be requested prior to 1pm PST the day prior to travel.

Cancellations/Refunds are available on unused tickets if requested before 1pm the day PRIOR to the scheduled travel date/time. The Transaction Fee of $1.00+tax will not be refunded.

▸ Do I need to create a customer account?

Creating an account makes your travel experience easier. Register for a customer account and Sign-In to keep track of all your purchases and travel information, any unused bundles or passes, re-print any lost tickets, and save yourself time when making new bookings.

▸ Can the weather affect this service?

Mount Washington Ski Bus operates its scheduled service regardless of weather or ski conditions at Mt Washington. Refunds or compensation will not be considered based on weather related delays or ski conditions at Mount Washington. Mount Washington Ski Bus does not guarantee arrival at Mount Washington Alpine Resort in the event of any adverse weather or road conditions.  Check the snow conditions at Mt Washington.

The Mount Washington Ski Bus may cancel a booking and issue a full refund if there are too few passengers or if weather conditions make travel unsafe.

▸ How do I check-in & board?

Please present your digital ticket to the driver, along with your ID, upon check-in/boarding. (Printed tickets will be accepted if you can’t provide a digital one).

Please Note: Pickup times listed on the tickets are the times the bus will DEPART the stop. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow time for check-in and boarding.

▸ Can children under 13 years ride the bus unaccompanied?

No, children must be 13 years or older to travel unaccompanied by an adult on any scheduled services. The Mount Washington Ski Bus will not be responsible for unaccompanied minors while they are aboard our buses.

Unaccompanied Minors age 13-18 must travel with a photo ID that includes their name and birth date, in order to prove they are of sufficient age to travel alone when checking in with the driver.

All passengers regardless of age must purchase a seat on the Mount Washington Ski Bus, this includes children, infants and toddlers.

As there is no way of knowing in advance whether the bus for your specific trip will be equipped with seatbelts, our service requires passengers to always come prepared with an appropriate child seat, if your child requires one in a vehicle (See Child Seat Policy).

▸ What is the child seat policy?

Children weighing up to 18 kg (40 lbs.) who board a seatbelt equipped vehicle are required to ride in an approved CMVSS car seat supplied by the child’s parent or caregiver, and be secured to the vehicle using the seatbelt (lap belt). Children over 18 kg (40 lbs.) are required to use the lap belt restraint system; however, booster seats are not to be used with only a lap belt restraint system. In the event a passenger brings a car seat and the vehicle is not equipped with seatbelts or restraints, The Company will store the car seat with the checked luggage for no charge. ▸ Are wheelchairs & accessible services available?

For passengers who require the service of a wheelchair-lift equipped coach, please note that we require reservations and full prepayment AT LEAST 72 hours in advance of the trip. Please select ‘Wheelchair Passenger (Wheelchair-Lift Required)’ under the ‘Additional Services’ button on the passenger information screen.

Please note that The Company has a limited number of wheelchair-lift equipped coaches in its fleet. Also, due to safety considerations, wheelchair-lift services can only be arranged to/from certain locations. If our lift-equipped coaches are not available for the travel locations and times you have selected, The Company will contact the customer to make any necessary adjustments to their trip, such as changing the date and/or departure time of travel, or providing a full refund if The Company cannot meet the customer’s needs.

For passengers who use mobility aids i.e. walkers, foldable wheelchairs, and can board the coach with some assistance; we are able to store the non-motorized mobility aid under the coach for no additional charge. Please select ‘Mobility Aid’ under the ‘Additional Services’ button on the passenger information screen.

For passengers who use motorized scooters and can board the coach with some assistance; we can accommodate the motorized scooter at no additional charge if they are 50lbs or less, and the battery can be removed by the passenger or their companion. Please select ‘Motorized Scooter’ under the ‘Additional Services’ button on the passenger information screen.

▸ Can I bring a pet on the Mount Washington Ski Bus?

The Mount Washington Ski Bus can’t accommodate pets on-board any of its buses with exception of people with disabilities. A valid guide or Service Dog Certification must be presented and ‘Service Animal’ must be selected under the ‘additional services’ button on the passenger information page.

▸ Can I bring baggage and ski/snowboard gear on the Mount Washington Ski Bus?

The Mount Washington Ski bus allows regular and specialty baggage for no charge, up to a maximum of 4 items per person. Weight on any baggage or equipment is not to exceed 22.5 kg/50 lbs. One carry-on is also permitted, not exceeding 7 kg/15 lbs. Please label all your equipment and baggage with name tags.

The Ski-Bus will be locked and inaccessible to passengers during the day. Lockers are available at the Lodge at Mt Washington. Mount Washington Ski Bus is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment or luggage.

▸ What is your policy for smoking, vaping and unruly behavior?

No smoking or vaping is permitted on any of The Mount Washington Ski Bus’s buses.

Please be considerate to your fellow passengers. Unruly or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the bus. There will be no compensation or refund to passengers removed from a bus, and The Mount Washington Ski Bus will not be responsible for any onward transportation arrangements.

▸ What are the key scheduling and connection details I should know?

Travel times are approximate, and may vary based on ferry wait times, as well as weather and road conditions. Please plan accordingly, and give yourself ample time to make your connections or destination. While the Mount Washington Ski Bus endeavors to conduct our buses as indicated in promotional materials and the websites, all buses are subject to change without notice.

The Mount Washington Ski Bus is not responsible for any missed flights, ferries, tours, or other travel connections.

The Mount Washington Ski Bus may cancel a booking and issue a full refund if there are too few passengers or if weather conditions make travel unsafe.

▸ Is parking available while I ride the Mount Washington Ski Bus?

We do not have designated parking spots available at this time.

Please do not park in any of the prohibited parking spaces at the pick-up locations. We remind our guests to please respect the businesses in these areas, and that parking illegally may result in ticketing and/or towing. The Mount Washington Ski Bus is not responsible for vehicles ticketed, towed, or damaged while using our service.

▸ What should I do if I lost an item or piece of equipment?

If you lose something on a bus, please call Lost & Found at 1-800-567-3288 or email lostandfound@gowilsonsgroup.com. Found articles may be claimed during business hours at the location they are being held.

Found articles are kept for up to 30 days. If you call us and we have the article we will hold it for a maximum of seven days. All unclaimed articles will be donated to charitable organizations.

▸ Do you offer any special deals/packs/offers?

All special deals, packs, and offers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. Unused tickets from any bundle or promotion will not be refunded after the current Mount Washington Ski Bus season ends.
